After the fantastic spectacle that was the first ever series appearance at Tyrepower Sydney Speedway last season, Carline Mufflers National Super Sedan Series competitors and officials alike are excited about the upcoming return to the Parramatta venue on Wednesday night (January 4). The opening rounds in Queensland featured some brilliant racing and the wide open spaces of Tyrepower Sydney Speedway are sure to produce some magic moments as Australia’s best Super Sedan competitors lock horns once again.

In addition to the 19 contracted drivers, a strong line-up of local and interstate challengers have nominated for the event, including Western Australia’s Rob Bawdon and the Queensland duo of Mark Pagel and Jason Campbell. Also amongst the nominations are Wayne Brims, Tania Smith, Robert Carrig, Paul Kranitis, Michael Hickey and Barry Towers, all of whom have considerable experience on this circuit and will no doubt be primed for a big result.

Having taken out the opening round of the series in Gympie, Orange-based hotshoe Lachlan Onley will be looking to repeat the performance in his home state.  Onley scored an emphatic feature race victory in his last outing at Parramatta a few weeks ago, which could prove critical against such a quality field of Super Sedan competitors from every state. However, Darren Kane was clinical in winning round two in Toowoomba and, having won the New South Wales championship in Sydney earlier in the season, he will again be very hard to beat. Throw in the likes of current Australian champion Steve Jordan, two-time series champion Wayne Randall and another six state or national championship winners and the scene is set for a spectacular night of competition.

A big support program, which includes Speedcars, Wingless Sprints and Fender Benders, gets underway at 5:00pm.
