The first leg of the 30/30 Super Sedan Challenge was held at the Lismore Showgrounds in Northern New South Wales on Saturday night.

The unique teams event saw six heats held of a scheduled eight, after some inclement weather in the area, with Jamie McHugh winning the opening heat, which would see six different winners from the six heats, which also resulted in six different teams winning those heats.

The first 30 Lap A Main was a great spectacle, going from flag to flag in record time, with Jamie McHugh defeating Australian V8 Dirt Modified Champion Peter Britten by 0.734, with Brad Smith and Marc Giancola a distant third and fourth respectively.

The second 30 Laps would see starting positions decided by the finishing positions in leg one, but the second race would be riddled by incidents. Steve Jordan would prevail in the lengthy second race, downing Darren Kane by 0.301 in a close finish, with Steve Pearce third. Matt Pascoe and Lucas Roberts were two drivers who only did three of the scheduled thirty laps in the second race.

So with Jordan winning the second 30 lap Feature Race, Jordan and Peter Britten were declared the winners, with Darren Kane and West Australian Marc Giancola second, with Steve Pearce and Gavin Northfield third.

The second leg of the 30/30 Super Sedan Challenge will be held this Saturday night at the Charlton Raceway, Toowoomba.
