Since it began, the Carline Mufflers National Super Sedan Series
has been instrumental in luring national, and international,
companies into the world of speedway sponsorship. The NSSS has
introduced some of the biggest brands to what is undoubtedly the
most exciting form of motorsport on the planet. This tradition
continues in 2010/2011 with confirmation that Monroe Shock
Absorbers will be supporting the championship this year as
naming rights sponsor of the opening round of competition at
Brisbane International Speedway.
Founded by August F. Meyer in Monroe, Michigan in 1916 as the
Brisk Blast Manufacturing Company, the business began life as a
manufacturer of tyre pumps to cater to the fledgling automotive
industry. With rapid growth and expansion – sales climbed to
over 5 000 per week – and a partnership formed with local auto
dealer Charles Meyer in 1918, the Monroe Auto Equipment Company
was born.
In 1928, the first Monroe shock eliminator was introduced and
within 25 years the Monroe-Matic – the first double action shock
absorber – was being used by most American auto manufacturers.
The company went international in 1964 and soon became renowned
as the world leader in both original equipment and aftermarket
ride control, a reputation that remains today. In 1980, Monroe
began manufacturing its first struts and soon thereafter
produced its first gas charged shock absorber. Since then,
groundbreaking products such as Sensa-Trac, Reflex, Gas Magnum
TDT and GT Sport have been developed, cementing Monroe’s
position as the global leader in ride control.
The support of Monroe is a huge coup for the Carline Mufflers
National Super Sedan Series as Monroe is an iconic brand and the
leading authority on shock absorber technology. Monroe
manufactures shock absorbers that suit the vast majority of
vehicle types, providing safety and control for vehicles on, and
off, our roads. In fact, today more Australian motorists use
Monroe shock absorbers than any other brand.
The opening round of the 2010/2011 Carline National Super Sedan
Series, proudly sponsored by Monroe Shock Absorbers, will be
contested at Brisbane International Speedway on Monday, December
27. A strong field of local stars is expected to take on the
contracted series stars in what will be a spectacular start to
the championship.
