SSA Media Release

Ipswich's Mat Pascoe has raced home to win the 38th annual running of the V8 Super Sedan Queensland Title, by passing Darren Kane on the second last lap to claim a his maiden Queensland Title win, at the Maryborough Speedway last night. (Saturday, 12 March 2011)

Pascoe was brilliant and worked the high line through lap traffic and was able to chase down Darren Kane who led the majority of the feature race.

Tasmanian Brad Smith finished third just ahead of Jamie McHugh and a fast finishing Aussie Champion Steve Jordan, who was controversially sent to the rear of the field on lap four of the A Main, after an incident with Darren Kane while leading the race.

Jordan flew around the outside to finish fifth in an amazing drive. Victorian Mick Nicola round out the top six.

After a weekend of terrible weather and terrible conditions, over 1500 people got to finally see an awesome feature race on the Saturday night, after sitting through numerous rain delays which forced numerous attempts to prepare a race surface suitable for competing on.
