The third annual
NASR National Safety Conference will be held
at Bankstown, Sydney this year and all members
of National Competitor Groups and NASR State
Branches are invited to nominate two delegates
to represent their interests at this
conference. A limited number of observer
positions are also available for the day
The Speedway Safety Advisory Committee will
give an update on its latest achievements and
current issues it believes speedway is facing
today. We are also lucky to again have Dr
Robert Nethercote presenting an update from
the Australian Institute of Motorsport Safety
(AIMSS). There will be a track preparation and
shaping presentation by Alan Barlee as well as
a safety apparel presentation including
information on head and neck restraints. There
will also be an open forum which is an
opportunity for you to ask questions or raise
any issues and concerns that you might have
with regards to safety in speedway.
Drivers, officials and other interested
parties are welcome to attend the afternoon
session which will comprise of the head and
neck restraint presentations, in which
suppliers will have their respective devices
on hand to demonstrate and discuss. This
session will run from 2pm to 3.30pm.
Please ensure that you register your interest
to the NASR National office as soon as
possible if you wish to attend, in addition to
any agenda items you would like discussed
during the open forum.
The conference is scheduled for Saturday 26th
July from 9am to 3.30pm at the Bankstown
Sports and Events Centre, 8 Greenfield Parade,
Bankstown, NSW. This will be followed by
Australian Speedway Hall of Fame Induction
Dinner that night and the NASR National
Council Conference the following day.
