International Speedway on Saturday night, May 28; the Boettcher
Racing Team driver is confident of overcoming his recent run of
misfortune and is determined to wrap up the series on a winning
note.
“We’re heading
into the final round aiming to win and nothing else,” he
confidently said,
who is having a
similar run to what he had leading up to wrapping up the
National Series earlier this season. “Our run of bad luck hasn’t
got the team down, if anything, it’s made us more determined to
not let it spoil our winning chances.”
The most recent
story of misfortune for Kane came just last weekend at Gympie’s
Mothar Mountain Speedway. Kane was comfortably leading the
feature race, after he had dominated the earlier heat races, and
looked set for victory lane only to suffer steering damage,
caused from an incident from a previous round, that put paid to
his winning hopes and he was forced to retire. At the round
before that, Toowoomba’s Charlton Raceway, Kane had a tough
night and finished back in eighth place, while the round prior
to that, once again at Mothar Mountain Speedway, he was unable
to start the feature race due to suffering a gear selector issue
on the dummy grid in the pits.
“I don’t know
what else to say other than it’s just plain bad luck, as our
team works
extremely hard to
give me the best possible car, but sometimes things just creep
in and
there isn’t much
you can do about it,” explained Kane. “Despite the bad luck
we’ve had the fastest car out there, but we’ve just been robbed
of some vital points towards to the final stages of the series.”
