As the kick off for the 2009 World Series Sprintcars draws ever closer, another major component of the on track presentation was announced today.

Arguably the best ‘ringmaster’ in the business Wade Aunger has signed on for the 2009 series and will be the voice of WSS on its nationwide tour. Announcing the new deal with Aunger, WSS Chairman Geoff Kendrick said he was delighted to with the outcome.

“Wade was a key part of the success of WSS over many years. He has a unique understanding of the show and is the best on course ringmaster in the land. As part of the development of the new look WSS we have spoken to many interest groups and it was clear that Wade was seen as an element that takes the WSS to the levels it needs to be at,” said Kendrick.

Aunger too was happy to be back with WSS. “I have been sitting on the sidelines for a while which is a good thing. It has given me a chance to reignite my batteries and my passion for Sprintcars,” Aunger commented. “I am very excited to get back on the road and see what I can add to the series. Speedway is still my first love and I am completely focused on the job of livening up the show and giving the fans a great night out,” Aunger added.

Aunger will be at 16 of the 17 nights of racing this season. A pre-contractual commitment to the Mini Series in Perth will see David Tapp launch the series in Brisbane. Tapp is no stranger to the WSS crowds and is delighted to be filling in for Round 1.

The 2009/10 World Series Sprintcars championship kicks off in Brisbane on November 21 and includes 14 rounds at the premier Speedway venues around Australia.
