In all forms of motorsport
competition, it is almost always the driver alone who enjoys the
recognition, acclaim and riches that are the rewards for success
in their chosen sport. However, such is the nature of motor
racing, nobody can succeed in isolation and, despite its
outwardly individualistic nature, motorsport is very much a team
pursuit. There are a variety of other people who play a critical
role in any on-track success for all competitors across all
racing categories.
With 10 rounds of racing scheduled over four weeks, the
2009/2010 Carline Mufflers National Super Sedan Series will be
the ultimate test of reliability, resourcefulness and resilience
amongst participating teams. Whilst it will be the drivers who
secure the headlines and hardware that accompany success in the
series, it is the hard working crews responsible for the
maintenance and repairs of the cars often with minimal time in
difficult conditions - who are the real heroes. To recognise the
efforts of the crews who keep the cars on track throughout the
series, the Kincrome Crew Chief of the Year Award will be
presented to the crew chief deemed to have been the most
outstanding across the 10 rounds of competition.
Kincrome are making their first foray into sponsorship of the
Carline Mufflers National Super Sedan Series with a great prize
package. The winning crew chief will pick up a Kincrome toolbox
and tools valued at more than $500 courtesy of Kincrome and Auto
One Cessnock. At each round of the series, NSSS officials will
allocate points on 3-2-1 basis to the crew chiefs whose efforts
are most meritorious. Factors taken into account will include
the overall ongoing presentation of the car, the efficiency and
effectiveness with which any repairs have been undertaken,
reliability and the consistency of the on-track performance of
the car and driver under a variety of track conditions. The crew
chief who accumulates the most votes across the 10 rounds will
be the Kincrome Crew Chief of the Year.
