SSA Media Release
New Body to oversee Super Sedans in Australia being formed
Additional Information HERE Election of State
representatives to the interim committee of the Australian Super Sedan
Association.
This document describes the preferred process to be used
to elect each Sate based representative to the interim management committee of
the Australian Super Sedan Association. Although we have registered both
National Super Sedan Association and Australian Super Sedan Association, we will
use Australian Super Sedan Association (ASSA ) in order to minimize any
confusion with NASR and the National Super Sedan Series (NSSS). The Australian
Super Sedan Association is also a logical name for the body representing each
State based Super Sedan Association.
Candidate eligibility criteria.
To be eligible to nominate as a state representative, the
candidate must qualify as an active registered car owner, driver or
manufacturer. The definition of active is that the owner and/or driver actually
competed in the past 12 months at an advertised Super Sedan event or the
manufacturer was constructing or maintaining active Super Sedan race cars.
Voting eligibility criteria.
Only active registered car owners will be eligible to vote.
This is designed to ensure that only those with an active financial commitment
to the Super Sedan division have a vote on the future direction. The definition
of active is where your car competed at an advertised Super Sedan meeting in the
last 12 months and that it was ASCF/Speedway Sedans Australia registered.
Voting procedure.
Each State should ask all their members for an expression
of interest to stand for election as an interim committee member. Interested
members only need to self nominate for the position so that the name can be
placed on a ballot paper. Once a list of candidates is prepared, the ballot
paper will then be sent to all respective state eligible voters. The ballot
paper should show the following information:
Name and address of State based organizing
association.
List of candidates. ( Vote 1 for
most preferred candidate , 2 for next preferred etc. so that candidate with
lowest number of votes is duly elected.
Provision for voter to register
his/her name and ASCF registration number on the 2008-2009 decal.
Clearly identify closing date.
Voting timescale.
It is extremely important to complete the voting process
and have a duly elected state representative prior to 22nd May 2009.
The reason for this is that ASCF/ Speedway Sedans Australia have organized a
Super Sedan forum with selected list of attendees for tentatively the 23rd
May 2009. Both Ron Bergmeier and Tony Barlimore have accepted on behalf of ASSA
but we really need to show how serious the association is by having a unanimous
show of support from all states by electing all representatives prior to this
date. All newly elected representatives are welcome to attend but the short
notice and large travel distances will obviously pose a problem. Future meetings
will be via electronic means or at the race track where possible.
The Sate organizers should keep all copies of voting
returns in a safe and secure manner. |
